PCR Charter: sign up to show your lifelong commitment to better patient care

William Wijns, the PCR Chairman, invites the cardiovascular community across the globe to read and consider the charter before adding their signature

This PCR Charter comes from William Wijn’s resolution to reach out and unite all those in the cardiovascular community who share the same strong values and commitment to better patient care. It also forms part of a wider, long-term reflection on how to ensure that PCR continues to successfully  ‘fill the gap’ in continuing medical education. Indeed, it is more than ever essential to ‘Think globally, act locally’ in order to improve daily practice and patient outcomes all across the world.

By signing this PCR Charter drawn up by William Wijns, you will signify:

  • your public commitment to providing better care for each patient and their family
  • your attachment to lifelong learning and continuous self-appraisal
  • your adaptation to different local environments and cultures
  • your motivation to share knowledge and work for your successors
  • your adherence to strong work ethics during your daily practice
  • your acceptance, if called upon, to contribute to future PCR initiatives

All those who sign will receive a personal certificate and appear on a dedicated list of signatories on PCRonline.

We are committed to serve the needs of each individual patient by supporting and helping the cardiovascular community to share knowledge, experience and practice.

In order to achieve this mission, the needs of the patient will always come first! We will be caring for each individual patient and their family with an open mind, adapting to the local environment and culture, without consideration for borders, privileges, biases or prejudice.

PCR Charter

Our mission is bigger than ourselves, but together we achieve more. As a community our collaborative impact far exceeds the sum of what individuals working alone could deliver.

We are committed to lifelong learning and an ongoing quest for improvement based on self-appraisal and the continuous evaluation of our actions. Sharing and discussion among peers of problem-oriented case-based solutions are transformative and impactful learning engines.

PCR Charter

We are all team players and form a worldwide community of learners. We engage with people from different countries, continents, and cultures to share experiences and derive meaning from each other’s knowledge and practice.

We interact in a respectful and non-judgemental way, adhering to strong work ethics, with honesty, integrity and humility. We are working for our successors.
